Mon - Feb 13/12

A busy day shopping.

Late morning we collected the garbage and bagged the recycling. The garbage went to the large rolling garbage can that each lot has this year.

The soft drink cans went to the Woodshop Bin that uses the recycling proceeds to buy new equipment. The paper, cardboard and plastic go into the large bins near the laundry. These proceeds benefit local charities. I checked the mail at the same time. There was a package with 3 new "feet" for Charlotte's Sewing Machine that I had ordered. It is easy and cheaper to order the items here through Amazon.com.

Our next stop was at Walgreens (Drug Store) to hand in a prescription at the Drive-Thru that we would pick up on our return from shopping in Mesa, AZ.

We were then off to get material to complete Charlotte's quilt. Our destination was Jo-Ann Fabrics. Charlotte picked up some thread and quilt batting. The quilt batting is 80% cotton and 20% polyester rather than 100% polyester that is used for most stuffing. She was also looking for a specialized pattern making template which they did not have. We continued on down E. Main St. in Mesa to Mulqueen Sewing Center to see if they had that particular template. There were similar items but they were all too large.

We stopped at the Olive Garden at the Superstition Springs Shopping Complex for lunch. It was packed but we were seated within 20 minutes. Charlotte had the soup and salad while I had the Asiago Tortellini with Sausage which is one of their new combos. It was excellent. We shared the dessert that came with my meal.

The next part of our trip was a bit tricky. Our daughter (Kat) sent us on a "GPS Treasure Trip". Every once in a while she sends an address and a clue as to what is at our destination. This was to be a surprise for Charlotte so I put the address in the GPS and knew I would be looking for something "Berry Nice".

It turned out that the destination was Edible Arrangements and the surprise was that she had ordered a Valentine's Arrangement for us - unbelievably large Strawberries covered in Gourmet Chocolate....mmmmm.

We put it in a cooler bag we had in the car to keep the chocolate from melting. We left the top on the car and turned on the Air Conditioning for our trip back to the RV Park.

At Walgreens I picked up the prescription. I purchased a WCard which Walgreens offers ($20 per year) for those who have no supplemental drug plan. Since we did not have a U.S. Plan we were eligible. The savings today on the one prescription was $99.

In the RV I filled out a medical claim form for the last set of prescriptions for mailing back to Canada and then helped Charlotte reorganize her Sewing Machine Carrier (Rolling Suitcase).  Then we just settled in for supper (hot dogs) and an evening of TV.

Mmmmm..... we also had more of the Chocolate Strawberries as well. A good way to end the day!
