Fri - Feb 10/12

We went to The Mesa Swap Meet about 11 am. We have never seen it so crowded. Even the overflow area was completely full of cars. We picked up our usual Bread and Cake items as well as some sugar free cake.

Charlotte also found a retractable tape measure that was the right size to make more of the "Snap Bags" The 16' model had the correct tape width. We should be able to make several "Snaps" for the bags out of the 16' length of the flexible tape.

Charlotte continued working on her quilt after we had lunch in the RV. She laid out the squares on the bed to decide on the pattern. Once the layout was decided she began sewing the divider seams together.

We headed for the pool at 4 pm. The air was 80 F - the pool always 88 F. The skies are more often a clear blue which is much darker than we ever see at home. That might have something to do with the low humidity and angle of the sun.

We enjoy going to the pool when the "Happy Hour" live music is playing on the patio. Today their were the usual "line dancers" as well as a good audience for the music which was provided by "The Calhouns". All the groups that have played here are quite enjoyable. The mostly play a mix of "Oldies" and "Western"."Happy Hour" is usually from 3 - 5 pm on Monday and Thursday and 4 - 6 pm on Friday (on the days there is no Friday Night Dance).

There was also a large crowd enjoy draft brew and chatting as they listened to the music.

I spent a little over an hour "treading water" with the help of "Pool Noodles". This is good low impact workout. Charlotte usually gets out a little sooner to sit on the lounge chair and dry in the sun.

Charlotte made a quick spaghetti sauce from the remaining veggies in the refrigerator....mmmm good!

The she continued working on her quilt for most of the evening while we watched (mostly listened) to Millionaire and Family Feud before CSI NY and ending with Jay (Leno).

I spent time on the internet determining what impact tomorrow's celebration of Arizona's Centennial of Statehood. Tomorrow there will be a big Bike Ride (expecting over 2000 ) featuring the "Copper Chopper" in Phoenix. The Arizona Centennial Copper Chopper motorcycle is the official mascot of the Centennial and has been travelling the state since October 2010 to  promote Arizona’s 100 years of statehood, motorcycle safety, and Arizona History.

The Copper Chopper (Arizona is "The Copper State") was produced by world-renowned bike-builder, Paul Yaffe, who resides and works in Arizona. Paul and his custom creations have graced the pages of more than 30 magazines in recent years, both in the United States and internationally. The Grand Prize drawing for the "Copper Chopper" with all 18 finalists (17 monthly winners and 1 Best Fest winner) will be held this Sunday.

We will try to avoid that area tomorrow.
