Tue - Jan 10/12

A "take it easy" morning in the RV.

We went to check out the Green Bee produce market set up at Guest Services at 1 p.m.

We bought a variety of the usual veggies and went to check out the pay phone in the laundry. That was a false lead. There was no pay phone - just a phone for in-park calls.

Wow! All new washers and dryers and a note: The credit cards from last year that were needed to operate the washers and dryers will not work in the new machines. I had to go to the office where they converted the previous card credits to a new card.

I also checked on the woodshop card - previous cost $5.00 per season.  Now it is free!

I also spoke to the wood shop manager and would not have to repeat the safety course.

Our next destination, after unloading the veggies at the RV, was the closest Post Office in A.J. (Apache Junction). Mailed a letter to Canada. Then we headed out to Jo-ann Fabrics in Gilbert so Charlotte could buy some material for the next sewing class project. I fueled up the Del Sol at the Sam's club nearby while she was in Jo-Anne's.

We decided to go a few exits down the Loop 202 (SanTan Freeway) to the Texas Steakhouse for our traditional "we have arrived steak" celebration meal. This is our treat when we arrive at any distant destination.

Ooops! Except on the Fri/Sat/Sun they don't open before 4 p.m.

To kill some time we went to the nearby SuperTarget to grocery shop. We had planned on doing that at the Sam's Club or Costco that are both near Jo-Ann's. Target had competitive prices and good produce. They are a viable Wal-Mart competitor with the bonus of being neater, cleaner, better organized and less crowded.

After a great meal we ended up in the tail end of the rush hour as we returned to Canyon Vistas. The big problem, as usual, is not the Freeway itself - it is the first stoplight off the exit ramps. The exit ramps were backed up about 2 miles, moving only several cars at a time every time the light changed. The outside lanes were moving at near the 65 mph speed limit.

We unloaded the car and put the perishables in the refrigerator or freezer. The remainder will be put away tomorrow morning - it was time for NCIS on TV.

Oooops! A problem. The Blogger allotment is full and would not allow pictures to be uploaded for this post.

It took 3 hours with the slow park Wi-Fi connection to delete previous year's posts to allow pictures to be once again uploaded. Now I can go to bed.
