Wed - Apr 4/12

Off this morning on a mission to find some wooden hearts and stones for a craft project. Our neighbour invited us to a farewell get together tomorrow evening and we wanted to bring a small gift for everyone.

First stop was the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) for breakfast. It is in the same corner mall as the Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree at Signal Butte Rd and Southern in Mesa, AZ just off US-60 (Exit 193) just 10 minutes from the RV Park. Can you say Breakfast Combo?

We thought we would search first at Dollar Tree for the items we wanted (everything there is $1) to save money. No luck!

At Hobby Lobby succeeded. We picked up a pack of small wooden hearts, paint, brushes and the stones (inscribed) that we required.

Next we went to the Walmart south on Signal Butte Rd just past the US-60 overpass. We needed a few items we were running out of and some RV items. I wanted a new bicycle flashlight to attach to the car's steering wheel when it is "in tow". This allows us to watch on the rear view camera and verify the car wheels have returned to the straight ahead alignment after cornering.

The next mission was a "wild goose chase". I wanted a 5/8" HSS (high speed steel) drill bit with a 3/8" shaft. No luck at Lowe's, Home Depot or Best Hardware. ACE Hardware had a 5/8" HSS bit with a 1/2" shaft which would not fit my drill. This is an "oddball" bit size. The size is available in other formats (masonary, wood or hammer drill); but rare in HSS. I could find it online - but not available as an internet order - go figure?

A swim before supper. Refreshing; but cool when we got out. The park has lowered the heated pool temp from 88 (all the past years) to 84. Someone was complaining about the Spa being "cold" today as well. Must be a money saving move - maybe its helping run the new (second) pool?

Charlotte started working on painting the "Hearts" after supper as we watched TV.

Details tomorrow!
