Sun - Apr 8/12

Happy Easter!

Called first to see if they were open then headed out mid-morning to find parts to rewire the windshield washer motor.

The closest auto parts store was O'Reilly's in Apache Junction, AZ. I picked up a Push-to-Start Button for a car. This will give the momentary power I need for the washer which will run as long as the button is pressed and will stop when released.

Being we were part way there we continued on to the Mesa Swap Meet. This will be our last opportunity for this season. More than half of the booths were closed being it is Easter Sunday. The aisles did not have the usual crowd. At least we got in a 2 km walk and still found a few items to buy!

Although we left the RV with the top off the car it remained on when leaving the swap meet. We thought it was better to be air conditioned than being in the sun as the temps are approaching 90F. The sun is more direct now as it moves north making it more intense. Even if it is a "dry heat" - it's getting hot down here!

We were going to have a sandwich at the Paradise Bakery and Cafe in the shopping complex next to the Swap Meet; but, they were also closed for Easter. We then settled on "being sinful" at The Cold Stone Creamery at the other end of the mall. Factoid: In 1988 the first Cold Stone Creamery opened in Tempe, Arizona only a few miles from here!

We shared a "Mud Pie Mojo" which is Coffee Ice Cream w/Oreo Cookie Pieces, Peanut Butter, Roasted Almonds and Fudge. Of course, the freshly made, smooth, creamy ice cream and ingredients are all mixed together on the "Cold Stone" (a frozen granite slab) and served in a waffle bowl.

We also shared a "Berry Lemony" smoothie which is a refreshing blend of Strawberries, Raspberries and Lemon Juice.

We returned to the RV - glad that we left the "Air" on when we travelling

We went for a swim around 4:30 pm. (We had to watch Jeopardy first!). There was a large crowd on the patio. We assumed it was a group of Alfa (motorhome) owners who came in early for the rally since there was no music or free beer.  On leaving we cruised the park to see home many Alfa owners had already arrived. We spotted about two dozen in groups of 3 to 6 in the park's north end. The other big rally (Prevost) group will be grouped in the south end of the park.

Back at the RV I replaced the washer motor wire ends with new weather proof contacts.I tracked the colours to a connector that runs inside the RV. I will see if I can track the inside wires thus avoiding having to run a long stretch of wiring. I will just "jump" the wires inside. Sunset now means this will be a job for tomorrow morning.

Supper then TV (as usual) in the RV before bed.
