Tue - Apr 10/12
Another 90F + day before it cools to the high 70's F tomorrow.
Our neighbour from across the street had to move to the back of the park due to the upcoming rally groups coming in this week. The park wants the rally groups to be together (as I am sure, they do). This is why we will have to leave on Thu (Apr 12). We should be able to leave as scheduled. The "Brake Buddy" has arrived at UPS Phoenix. It is scheduled for delivery by the end of day Thursday. I think (and am hoping) it may arrive Wednesday. We will know more tomorrow.
I also took off the windshield and side window privacy screens in preparation for departure Thursday. A day early won't matter - as our neighbours all around us have already departed. The park is probably down to less than 20% of capacity now that the "high season" has passed.
I spent the morning re-arranging the storage on the "shady side". When we travel - even if we stop at an RV park for a few days - we usally do not open the large passenger side slideout that contains the dinette and sofa (bed). The RV is designed to have enough room to move throughout even with all 3 slideouts pulled in. If we are "dry camping" overnight at a Flying J or Walmart we leave all slides in. If we stop at an RV park for a day or more we just extend the bedroom and kitchen slideouts. Chances are the large slideout will remain in until we arrive home.
All afternoon was involved in re-wiring the RV trailer connector. The connection to the car would not work the tail lights on the way here. One connection was intermittent when I put in the tester. When I took it off 3 connections were corroded. The wiring is a mess. None of the colours match the "standard" wiring colour scheme. On top of this some colours change were the are spliced. I was told yesterday by a Fleetwood owner in the park that this is common for Fleetwood Motorhomes (of our era?). He tried 5 different RV repair shops trying to get his to work correctly. He even took it back to the factory and they couldn't figure it out. Eventually he came across "an old timer" who explained that Fleetwood changed wiring in part of the motorhome without updating the lighting connections. I suspect mine is in this category as it was a 2005 model - built in 2004 (for the new season) possibly a on 2003 chassis (at least the motor chip is a 2003).
I may connect to the car tomorrow to see what happens. Right now I am too tired after working in the 90+F sunshine all afternoon. Charlotte worked hard inside also arranging and storing items for travel.
We decided to head for Carl's Jr. just a quick 10 minute ride to the second exit west of here at US-60 and Tomahawk Road. The evening air (top off) was re-freshing there and back. We toured the park once before settling down to watch NCIC on TV.
Bed will be early again tonight - the sun and heat has taken it's toll today.
