Mon - Jan 22/18

We were about to go to the Webster Farmers Market this morning; but decided to be lazy. It was supposed to hit 80 F today and that might be too warm as this is one of the largest outdoor flea markets with no A/C buildings like Daytona.

We watched TV during the morning. I left Charlotte to her knitting after "The View" finished and went to the MPR to work on the blog and continue working on the Dash Cam. I am perfectly happy with the camera; however support from the manufacture is non-existent. I e-Mailed a week ago (twice) to get a clarification, was notified that it had been received and yet there has been no reply.

I think I will return it to Best Buy.

While at the MPR a few folks arrived to sew, use the Wi-Fi or do other things. Stu and Gladys from London, ON arrived. Stu introduced himself because he recognized the Del Sol parked outside the MPR. His site is on our row about half way down the street. (actually, a path - we are on the one row without pavement.)

I was happy to hear that Stu has had 2 dash cams (Car and Motorhome) for a number of years and not experienced any problems. This was welcomed moral support for our decision to get a dash cam.

I received an e-Mail from Liz (daughter) updating how Marty (grandson) fared lately (he is a hockey goalie).

Marty played in the Brockville (ON)Tournament this weekend.  They won gold! He had a shut out his 2 games on Friday. They won their 3rd game yesterday and the semis this morning (another shutout) and they won the gold medal this afternoon. Marty only allowed 4 goals all weekend.

They also won their Long Sault (ON) Tournament between Christmas & New Years.

They played 6 games in which Marty only allowed 2 goals!

Needless to say we are proud grandparents!

By 2 p.m. I returned to the motorhome to pick up Charlotte and we were then off to Best Buy in Lady Lake, FL to return the F800.  There was no return problem. I explained that the unit worked perfectly; however I did not get any response from ThinkWare for my questions and needed to bring it back before the return deadline passed. They marked down that it "Didn't Work". I guess it was easier for them that way.

With temps in the low 80's F we enjoyed driving there and back with the top off. Being it was late afternoon it was also a good time to go for supper at Eaton's Beach Sand Bar and Steam Shack in Weirsdale, FL.

It specializes in "Florisiana Cuisine". Cajun with the Florida touch.

Since today was not the weekend and the time was not during rush hour we were able to be seated immediately at the window (2nd level) which overlooked the beach.

Charlotte started with a (Virgin) Bloody Mary. This is made with "The World's Greatest Bloody Mary Mix" from...Jimmy Luv's - Milwaukee, WI." The garnish is a beef stick, celery, pickle, olive, onion and a lemon wedge. It was good! Myself, just a Diet Coke.

Our menu choices were:

FRIED GREEN TOMATOESA hearty portion of fresh green tomatoes with a crispy coating served with a buttermilk ranch sauce for dipping. This is the only place I know of where they cut the green tomato in half and then bread it. This makes it so much easier to "dip" and "eat" compared to having to cut the whole tomato into pieces.

ANDOUILLE (Po-Boy)... Andouille with peppers & onions on a toasted French roll dressed with lettuce, tomato and house remoulade and served with shoestring fries and cole slaw.

While we were waiting for our meal our daughter (Kat) e-Mailed that she was at the house (our home). Kat lives just around the corner and checks on the Fur Balls (cats - Jesse and Max) daily. I called her and we caught up on events. Because of all the snow back home Marty (grandson) has had only 2 school days since Christmas - Wow! The prediction was that there would be more snow than normal this year. Guess they were right.

Julie, our waitress, provided excellent service which added to our enjoyment of the meal. She met our needs immediately and checked often to see that all was okay. I hope we get her next time we come. It isn't always just the food that makes a meal enjoyable. It's the company and the service, as well.

We returned to OMS just before 5 p.m. We had enough time to check the post office mail. We would have had just enough time to go to the main office to pick up the package we were expecting except there was no "You Have Mail" card. It was supposed to be here on Friday. Maybe tomorrow? Perhaps the "Trump Government Shut-Down" is to blame?

I dropped Charlotte at the motorhome and went to the MPR to check all the usual things that need checking and to do today's blog.

It never fails! After waiting several days for an answer from ThinkWare about the F800 operation they replied to my questions.  Unfortunately, I did not get the replay until after I had returned from Best Buy. I was; however able to get a number of answers through several e-Mails. I suggested they set up a "Chat" line.

I will do a little more research and probably order a Dash Cam in the near future.

We will be calling Liz this evening after Jeopardy. I will publish the blog now since there is nothing else planned for today.
