Up and on the road about 7 a.m.
On I-81 for 25 miles and then onto I-66 East for 28 miles to US-17 through Warrenton, VA. We have been going this way for about 30 years to avoid the traffic through Washington, DC. It is a little longer but easier for fuel, overnighting in the RV and traffic. A little over 40 miles later we were back on I-95 at Fredericksburg, VA.
Entry onto I-95 was actually easier due to the heavy traffic. The slowdown made it better for entering the 3 lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic.
I-295 (towards Virginia Beach, VA) is our usual bypass around Richmond, VA. The easier drive with less traffic is well worth the extra 6 miles before rejoining I-95 after about 45 miles.
A fuel stop at the Flying J RV lanes in Latta, SC. This would be our lowest price for the trip at $1.78.9 per regular gallon (U.S.).
Starting to cloud over a little as we approach our last destination for the day. The Walterboro, SC Wal-Mart SuperCenter is a really huge 24 hour store. It is our usual stop. There were at least 20 RV's in here for the night which is an average count. A quick stop in the store deli bought us supper. Charlotte picked up a few of her regular magazines which she read for a bit before we called it a night.
