Mon - 14 Apr/14

Today was an "Auto" day.

This morning I took the Del Sol back to Blount Honda to get the paint on the recent repair polished. Looks Good!

After that was completed I went to have the oil changed at Tires Plus in Eustis, FL. I had the oil changed a few months ago at this location. It is half the price of the "Quick Lube" places and just as fast. We had put 10,000 Km on the car down here since mid-January and it was due for an oil change. I guess we have been a few places since we arrived.

They office sent a staff to the door for the 6th time to see when we were leaving. Each time I go to the office they would check and find our site was blocked to the end of the month. Then they would say they didn't know why they went to check when we were leaving. I got tired of the hassle and solved the problem. We will leave next Tuesday and go somewhere else for a week or so before going home.

Charlotte made toasted tomato sandwiches for lunch - yummy! Dessert was a piece of the Black Forest cake that we bought yesterday at the Yalaha Bakery - also yummy.

After lunch we went to The Villages. This time we went to Spanish Springs. This was the first of the village squares.

They were having a market day around the square.

Typical sign for The Villages. It is designed for women. Hubby says; "You can either visit The Villages or "Get a Boob Job"; but not both!"(grin).

It was also  "Happy Hour" around the square. The 3 refreshment booths were running at full speed with 2 for 1 specials.

As usual; there were hundreds of folks sitting around the square as they waited for the daily "Live Entertainment" to begin - tonight the music was provided by "Street Talk".

After checking out the vendors we enjoyed the cooling breezes as we listened to the band. Just before 4 pm we headed to "The Rialto" for a movie: The Grand Bagdad Hotel. Charlotte reminded me to turn off my cell phone as our daughter Kat usually phones on her day off work (which was today). I replied: "Do you want to phone Kat before going in to the theatre?" Then, the phone rang! Speak of the Devil - it was Kat!

The movie was a "no-brainer" comedy - good for passing an hour and a half (if your brain dead!). OK - Everybody's a critic.

Here, like all parts of The Villages. the prime mode of transportation is the golf kart - anyone for a '57 Chevy?

The street parking was almost completely filled with karts. Four karts per car parking spot - 2 side-by-side and 2 deep.

They were even offering one as a raffle prize.

After the movie we walked up and down the streets near the square to check out the restaurants. Lots to choose from; however, none appealed to us today.

We had thought of TooJays. The meal here are huge and we weren't very hungry. One of their entrees would be even be too much for us to share.

We decided on Chili's in Lady Lake(FL); just a short distance from the square. We have eaten there a few times in the past. Charlotte ordered a bowl of Chicken Enchilada soup and I decided on the Texas Cheese Fries. That was enough to fill us up.

Again, a nice convertible ride back to the RV Park in the warm night air. Bonus: a perfect full moon above us as we drove back.

Dessert this evening was another piece from our Yalaha Bakery haul.

Tomorrow will be an RV day as rain is in the forecast.
